Aims of the course Review of the most important achievements (discoveries) in physics during the last 10-20 years. Introduction to modern research in theoretical and experimental physics.
Learning outcomes Students are aware of modern research techniques in theoretical and experimental physics. They also have the knowledge of research in physics at the University of Belgrade and are prepared to choose topics of their future research (master, PhD).
Contents of the course
Lectures The core of the course consists of series (up to 10) of lectures given by researchers from University of Belgrade and abroad. The lectures are on the level of Physics Today with not too many technical details. The topics concern important achievements (discoveries) in physics in recent years and the research work of the lecturers themselves. Also, visits to some research laboratories are planned. At the end of the course students are required to give a 15 minutes talk (presentation) on a research topic they choose.
