ADMISSION OF STUDENTS TO THE FIRST YEAR 
OF BASIC STUDIES

 

In previous years the Faculty of Physics has been admitting to the first year of basic studies 240 of students who were financed by budget and 160 of students who were paying the part of tuition (sufinancial students), so that:

The Faculty also has 20 places for self financed students who pay the real amount of tuition.

The Informer about the admission of students to the first year of Faculty of Physics, that consists of conditions of study, curriculum of all study groups and majors with tasks from entrance examinations that took place previous years, could be bought in Dean’s office, Studentski trg 12 Street, III floor, room 652 or, Cara Dusana 13 Street, the Office for students matters, ground floor, room 1.

Anyone who has four-years secondary school, no matter profession and specialization can apply for admission to the first year of basic studies.

All applied candidates are taking physics or mathematics entrance examination, or both of them (in which case the better result is scored). The candidates applied for admission on study group Physics and chemistry, can take the chemistry entrance examination.

Candidate selection is performed on the basis of general success in secondary school and results achieved on entrance examination, and on the basis of the unique rank order created according the whole number of points of each candidate. The biggest possible number of points is 100. Regarding the general success in secondary school is to understand the sum of average marks from all subjects in I, II, III and IV year of secondary school multiplied with 2. The marks of optional subjects and behavior do not count. On the basis of those data the candidate can achieve at least 16 and the most 40 points. The entrance examination carries maximum 100 points. The result of entrance examination (the number of points) is multiplied with factor 0.6. This result represents the number of points achieved on qualifying examination. The maximum number of points is 60.

The candidate can be register on budget if he ranks the number approved for registration on budget defined by the contest for the major and he has more than 51 points. Candidate who pays a part of tuition can be registered if he ranks the number approved for registration partially on budget defined by the contest for the major and he has more than 30 points.

The others information regarding admitting of students to the first year such as the date of registration and entrance examination, the list of necessary documentation and terms of registration of accepted candidates will be published in addition, probably shortly before the first registration period in May 2001.
